Arabic Subarna Kazi, a grand-nephew of Nazrul, was expected to translate some songs of Nazrul into Arabic. [Link; need more information] Chinese At the initiative of Bangladesh Embassy in China, an anthology of Nazrul's works is expected to be published soon. The translator is Professor Bai Kai Yuan, a renowned expert of Bangla language. This website is a testimony to that fact. French There is a website on Nazrul in French [Link]. The site contains some biographical information, a few poems translated by Dominique Letellier. The attempts to contact with the site developer so far has not been successful. German Dr. Golam Abu Zakaria, a physicist in Germany has published an edited book Leben und Werk des bengalischen Dichters Kazi Nazrul Islam. (Nazrul: Life and Works), 1999. Apart from a number of essays about Nazrul and his works, there are also translations of a number of his poems. Contact has been established with Dr. Zakaria. India: Malayalam K Satchidanandan, well-known Malayalam poet and president, Kendriya Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, has translated some works of Nazrul into Malayalam. [Link] India: Oriya Book: Bidrohi And Annyano Kobita [translated by Binod Chandra Naik] India: Telegu Translation of Kazi Nazrul Islam's works by Podyar Asu. The work received award from Sahitya Academy of India. Italian Two Catholic Italian Xaverian missionaries - Fathers Marino Rigon and Silvano Garello - have been translating many works of Kazi Nazrul Islam into Italian. So far, we have identified Mevlut Ceylan, who has published a book of translations of Nazrul's selected works.
