Starting at the tender age of five, Dalia Nausheen was initiated into the North Indian Classical music and Nazrul Sangeet, by the noted singer, Shudhin Das, in
During the War of Liberation in1 971, she participated as the youngest artist in “Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendra”.
Dalia completed the five-year Music course from Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyalaya in 1973, her teachers being Shiekh Lutfur Rahman, Sohrab Hussain and Ustad Ful Muhammed. She later on became a Teacher in the same school for the fourth and fifth year students.
Developing a penchant for the classical discipline of music, Dalia gradually became disciple of famous Ustads like : K.C. Banerjee,A.T. Kanan, Barin Majumdar, Pandit Jasraj, Sagiruddin Khan and Mashkoor Ali Khan. But alongside the Classical genre, she also pursued the lighter side of songs that is even today known as the ‘golden treasures’ or ‘harano diner gaan’, with Nazrul Sangeet as her foremost proficiency.
Till recently, being a ‘special grade’ artist for both BTV and Radio
, Dalia has performed in various State programs in the country. She has also performed in almost many countries, including the Bangladesh U.S., U.K., Germany, France, India, Thailand, , etc. Singapore
Dalia has been awarded “Sangeet Visharad’, in North Indian Classical and Nazrul Sangeet from Antara Sangeet Mahavidyalaya, Burdwan, India and Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, India, respectively.
